FREIGHT AND FINANCIAL SERVICES To be the largest and first choice logistics service provider in Southern Africa by land, sea and air operating from a broad based black empowered South African group. A  strategic  meeting  is  held  annually  to  review  the  previous  objectives  and  set  new  objectives. The objectives set for the next three years are as follows: SHIPPING SERVICES • To ensure a solid platform of  earnings and a low level of  risk by fixing out a portion of the group’s fleet. • To grow the fleet in niche markets using long term charters at favourable rates. • Growth through capital expenditure will be considered if: • against a specific chartered out contract and/or, • for application in a particular trade with a good customer base and/or, • at a favourable price. • To sell ships in high markets if  profit is greater than earnings stream. FREIGHT AND FINANCIAL SERVICES • To grow the business to achieve a target of  one-third of  the group’s income. • To focus on transportation and logistical services, warehousing and terminals. • To achieve growth through: • expansion of  existing businesses through cross marketing • greenfield opportunities • acquisition of  complementary operations • port and rail privatisation opportunities. • To further develop black economic empowerment at operating level.
